Mesopotamia is known for its elaborate artistic contributions in terms of inscriptions on Hamurabbi’s Law code. The pottery remains found in ancient Mesopotamian site shows usage of elaborate designs and glazed ceramic vases. The craftsmen of ancient Babylon used semi precious like Lapis lazuli to carve cylindrical seals and statues of gods and kings. Babylonian artists used panels made of glazed bricks to decorate important monuments, Plaques made of clay and the gold smiths made variety of jewellery like pendants ,bracelets etc. Weavers made cloth out of an abundantly found plant called Flax .
Ziggurat:Babylon’s famed ziggurat Etemenanki literally meant the House that is the foundation of Heaven and Earth. It was dedicated to the ancient god , Marduk. It is believed to be the biblical Tower of Babel.It was a temple tower for people to worship .
Hanging Gardens of Babylon:King Nebuchadnezzar created the best garden filled with a variety of plants from distant lands which actually gave the impression of Hanging Gardens, as his wife missed her home nature.
Gate of Ishtar :Ishtar gate was dedicated to the Babylonian goddess Ishtar.
